Five Kathmandu websites — audit findings
Results from our audit of 5 sites in Kathmandu in 2026.
Audit snapshot
- These figures come from our own audit of 5 sites in Kathmandu.
- Average SEO score across those 5 sites was 52 out of 100.
- Average AEO score across those 5 sites was 35 out of 100.
Published questions and answers
- What we saw: All 5 sites lacked published questions and answers a search assistant can quote. We found no FAQPage schema and fewer than 3 visible Q&A pairs on each site.
- What that costs: Voice and chat assistants have nothing to quote about your services. That makes it harder for a person using an assistant to see accurate, quick answers about what you offer.
- What to do: Publish a short FAQ on the site and add FAQPage schema. Include at least 3 visible Q&A pairs so assistants can quote them.
Address, phone and opening hours in machine form
- What we saw: 4 of 5 sites did not include a marked-up address, phone number and opening hours. There was no LocalBusiness or Organization schema on those pages.
- What that costs: Assistants cannot confirm your address, hours or phone number from the page. That means a potential customer using an assistant may not get verified contact details.
- What to do: Add LocalBusiness or Organization schema with your address, phone and opening hours in machine-readable form.
A short summary file for AI crawlers
- What we saw: 4 of 5 sites had no short summary file for LLMs at the expected address. We found no llms.txt files there.
- What that costs: Large language models do not get a curated summary to read instead of guessing from the HTML. That can lead to incomplete or wrong answers about your business.
- What to do: Create an llms.txt at the expected address that gives a clear, short summary for LLM crawlers.
Mobile homepage load time
- What we saw: 4 of 5 sites had homepages that did not load before a phone visitor gave up. Mobile Largest Contentful Paint was 56.4s, while the budget is 2.5s.
- What that costs: Visitors on phones stare at a blank screen and bounce. Slow load stops people from seeing your services at all.
- What to do: Cut the Mobile Largest Contentful Paint down toward the 2.5s budget. Improve images, reduce render-blocking scripts and serve a fast mobile experience.
Machine-readable business description
- What we saw: 3 of 5 sites had no machine-readable description of the business. There was no schema.org JSON-LD on those sites.
- What that costs: AI answer engines have to guess what your business is. That raises the chance of wrong or vague answers when someone asks about you.
- What to do: Add schema.org JSON-LD that describes your business clearly.
SSL certificate
- What we saw: 1 of 5 sites had no working SSL certificate and showed 'Not Secure' in Chrome.
- What that costs: A site labelled 'Not Secure' can deter visitors and may block some tools from using the site content.
- What to do: Install a working SSL certificate so the site is served over HTTPS.
